Senior Consultant – Strategy & Change Specialist

As part of the team, you’ll help our clients develop and communicate a plan that enables their employees to execute and embrace lasting transformation by empowering them to change their behaviour focusing on critical things that drive successful results.

We are looking for a permanent addition to the team who is invested to help us grow. We would also consider a part-time post to help cast the net further to help us catch the right person.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Consultant, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to the Managing Director
  • Work with our Business & Workflow Manager to ensure smooth financial management of projects and clients
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
  • Contribute to the development of the team’s technical acumen
  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
  • Assist in the management and delivering of large projects
  • Train, coach, and supervise our staff
  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
  • Help promote the company brand and values internally and externally

Essential Criteria:

  • Validated change management experience gained in a consultancy setting.
  • Sound knowledge and working experience within different industries
  • A confirmed knowledge of prevailing change management trends, emergent practices and a track record of innovating in one or more change management area.
  • Excellent skills in diagnosing a fit-for-purpose change approach, developing the approach and then implementing it.
  • A consistent track record of delivering complex programmes of work and an ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
  • Validated consulting skills, including excellent communication and social skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate workshops with client teams.
  • Be available to travel to client sites across the UK (and potentially Europe)
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications including Sharepoint.
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working with global organisations as part of a consultancy firm
  • Experience of working with large UK public sector, private and third sector clients.
  • Relevant professional qualification, such as MSc in a relevant discipline, CIPD qualification or a qualification in psychometric testing.
  • Wider experience in strategy development, change management and implementation

Business & Workflow Manager

About the Role:

This role is a new role in the business to work with the Managing Director and our team to help with planning and running the business in line with existing and future growth. This role interfaces with sales, consultancy and support areas of the business and involves planning, scheduling, management of contracts/ workstreams and finance. You will be working with a highly motivated team who deliver meaningful and quantifiable benefit to the business, coordinating all workflows and capturing and recording data.  Developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is important to us here and so is knowing our position and direction we are heading. Therefore, this role will be a key stakeholder in shaping the design and delivery of our forecasting, finance & scheduling roadmap to continue us on our journey.

 

The Responsibilities:

         Deliver accurate forecasts, effective schedules and outcome options to stakeholders.

         Demonstrate the ability to anatomise workload and set measurable and timely tasks accordingly.  

         Anticipate business needs and requirements through monitoring and analysis of trends and data, in order to provide mitigation options to the operation. 

         Ensure that all KPIs, objectives and strategic goals are outlined and achieved 

         Embrace change by leading and showing comfort in a fast-paced, working environment.

         Represent the business, communicating with effectiveness whilst showing strength when making decisions that affect key stakeholders.

         Collaborate with others and work toward the development of best practice procedures within planning and reporting for business success

         Be a decision maker for finance & scheduling queries.

         Understand the knowledge, capabilities and capacity of individuals in the team and ensure the best allocation of work is given to best person

         Drive continuous improvement in all processes and systems used 

         Work with all members of the team to promote the benefits of effective planning and display the appropriate personal leadership qualities while doing so.

         Provide financial and business management expertise and recommendations to Senior Management and the wider business.

 

What you will offer us

 Necessary Experience:

         Proven Team Leader experience working in an agile environment.

         Stakeholder management experience and excellent communication skills.

         Experience working in a finance/ or scheduling function 

         Experience working within a consultancy business model (or similar)

         Strong knowledge of organisational development/ business management  

 Desired Experience:

         Experience managing scheduling function with complex customer journeys for a team of 12-15 consultants 

         Experience in delivering operational updates to a director level audience

         Evidence of driving continuous improvement culture

         Experience with Xero and CRM/ project management/ scheduling systems
